In our nine-week Washington DC pilot series, we received support from the community in the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, ABC7, the Pink Line Project, Washington City Paper, Express, and food/art/culture/lifestyle blogs around the city.

HUFFINGTON POST “If you followed him inside, however, you would have discovered an echoing, two-story chamber full of D.C.’s aspiring movers and shakers, style icons and culinary gurus. Like any Sally Quinn dinner party in Georgetown, you had to have an invitation. But this was no Sally Quinn dinner party. This was the sold-out inaugural event of TableTribes’ summer picnic series, which aims to gather the most interesting people in D.C. for celebrations of food, camaraderie and conversation.”

EXPRESS “The very nature of a picnic encourages mingling and exploring new tastes. That’s why Washingtonian Hosan Lee saw alfresco feasting as the ideal way to launch TableTribes, a new organization that facilitates relationships via food and drink.”

THE WASHINGTON POST “The informality allows guests to kick off their shoes, sprawl out and get to know each other better — many, many business cards were exchanged — which is Lee’s ultimate goal for the events. Connections are what make each dinner come together, Lee says, from procuring the location to navigating the dinner service to exploring the theme.”

PINK LINE PROJECT “The discussion was cut short, leaving us all wanting to continue on a more personal scale. Before the evening concluded, Ms. Hyatt and her accompanist Ivan Khilko performed eerie interpretations of four classic soul standards, and Ms. Bass, a noted dance and performance artist, took advantage of my previous libationary indescretion to incorporate me in a spontaneous dance party that lured the rest of the guests onto the shiny green carpet within about eight seconds.”
